Evaluation for Irlen Syndrome begins with a two hour screening which determines if you or your child has the characteristics of the syndrome, the severity of it, and whether or not color intervention will help.
During the screening process colored overlays are used over the printed page.

Further assessment to determine if there is greater benefit to be gained from wearing tinted lenses requires a second in-depth evaluation that is scheduled for four hours.  Prior to this second evaluation, an examination by a vision specialist is necessary to assure accurate visual acuity.  Lenses, either prescription or non-prescription, will need to be obtained.  More specific information will be sent when you make an appointment with us.

We schedule diagnostic appointments in Burlington, NC approximately five times a year and would be glad to contact you when we schedule our next visit to NC.  Simply email us using the contact form on the home page.
