IS READING UNCOMFORTABLE OR DIFFICULT FOR

 YOU OR YOUR CHILD?

If so, take the following test:

  • Do you skip words or lines when you read?
  • Do you re-read lines?
  • Do you lose your place easily?
  • Are you easily distracted when reading?
  • Do you need to take frequent breaks when reading?
  •  Do you find it harder to read the longer you read?
  • Do you get headaches when you read?
  • Does reading make you tired?
  • Do you blink or squint when you read?
  • Do you prefer to read in dim light?
  • Do you read close to the page?
  • Do you use your finger or other markers?
  • Do you get restless, active or fidgety when reading?

Three or more “yes” answers indicate that you may be experiencing a perceptual problem known as Irlen Syndrome, which can interfere with reading comprehension and efficiency. An evaluation by a certified Irlen screener or diagnostician can identify whether or not you are suffering from this condition and help you overcome it.
