IS READING UNCOMFORTABLE OR DIFFICULT FOR YOU OR YOUR CHILD?
If so, take the following test:
Do you skip words or lines when you read?
Do you re-read lines?
Do you lose your place easily?
Are you easily distracted when reading?
Do you need to take frequent breaks when reading?
Do you find it harder to read the longer you read?
Do you get headaches when you read?
Does reading make you tired?
Do you blink or squint when you read?
Do you prefer to read in dim light?
Do you read close to the page?
Do you use your finger or other markers?
Do you get restless, active or fidgety when reading?
Three or more “yes” answers indicate that you may be experiencing a perceptual problem known as Irlen Syndrome, which can interfere with reading comprehension and efficiency. An evaluation by a certified Irlen screener or diagnostician can identify whether or not you are suffering from this condition and help you overcome it.
